Over the last couple of weeks I’ve been hit with a barrage of stressors. Some have been physical, some mental/emotional, some financial and some just have to do with my jeans not fitting (you know how it is) Long story short I’ve been feeling a little bit lacking in the swagger department. The version of me that once sent a text telling a rude boy never to contact me again, announce to the (empty) room at large “I don’t have to take this sh*t! I’m the mother-f**ing Redhead Bedhead!” and peel off in my car with Jay-Z blasting* has been nowhere to be found and I’ve missed her. So, I’ve been calling upon another badass sexy lady who took crap from no one and was hot as hell- the immortal Mae West.
The legendary actress, singer, playwright, screenwriter and, let’s be honest, sex symbol, was also something of a one-woman quote factory. I’ve been keeping some of her best one-liners in mind lately as I try to recapture my spark. Ms. West apparently just said awesome stuff constantly because I had a devil of a time limiting myself to 10 quotes but here they are. I think I will, one day soon do a completely separate list devoted exclusively to the sex ones. for now though, Mae’s kick-ass thoughts on life. Go forth and life each day like Mae West would!
