A while back I was out shopping (in a sex shop, because I’m me) and I spotted the cutest vibrator ever, the Muse, and went on a mission to figure out who made this piece of sexy adorableness. Enter NS Novelties. A couple of weeks ago they offered me a toy to review and I jumped at the chance. I didn’t know what they were sending and the day before it arrived I was talking to @Epiphora about wanting to try a dual-stimulation toy. The next day I got the Decollér (yep, totally learned how to type an accent for this review), it was as if they had read my mind. I’ve been talking a lot about wanting a Vitamix lately in case this will work with other stuff. No luck yet.
So, what’s the deal with this toy?
The Decollér is a dual-stimulation vibrator made with silicone and ABS plastic. It requires two AAA batteries and is waterproof.
How does it work?
This little guy is pretty straight forward. The bottom screws on and off easily for battery insertion and it is operated with two buttons (BUTTONS!!). The bottom button turns it on ( and a cute light comes on when you do that) and the top button scrolls it through 6 different vibration speeds and patterns.
Safety first
Always being a little suspicious of silicone toys I flame tested this one and I’m happy to report that it came through with flying colors.
How does it feel?
So, silicone has a matte finish (which can get drag-y, use a little water-based lube) and is pretty firm. It’s pretty flexible, I can bend the head back and forth and the clitoral arm can move around as well.
The velvety feel of the silicone top 2/3 of the toy carries down nicely into the ABS plastic handle. They really feel almost identical
No, seriously, how does it feel?
I struggle with dual-stimulation toys, they never seem to line up with my anatomy quite right and this was no exception. No matter which mode I tried or what angle I put the toy at I could not get anywhere with it orgasm-wise. I think some of this had to do with the bendy-ness of the toy. Also the vibration is very buzzy and I felt more of it in the handle than at the ends touching my body.
What I will say is that the shape is lovely and insertion is very comfortable.
Things I’m down with:
- Yay silicone!
- Yay affordable silicone– the Decollér comes in between $32- $40
- It’s got little feet at the base and that makes it able to stand up on its own. I love that, especially when cleaning my toys
Things that make me go grr
- It has a smell. Kind of plasticky. It’s what made me want to flame-test
- It is kind of loud ranging (as you go through the modes) from a loud vibrating cell phone to a slightly quieted electric razor.
- The vibrations are super buzzy and live mostly in the handle
It’s a little thing but it bothers me
- The name of the toy is spelled differently on the box (Decollér) than on the website (De’coller) This drove me crazy.
