Have you ever seen the lists of possible side effects for anti-depressants? They are pretty long and, what I’ve always found interesting is that they are fairly detailed, naming very specific possible symptoms with one huge exception: “sexual side effects”. Often that is exactly how any and all sex-related side effects are referred to all at once with no further explanation -that’s right there are approximately 12 separate bullet points about what could happen to the temperature, moisture level and texture of your hands but when it comes to your sex life all they think you need to know is “eh, some stuff related to that might happen or something”
This makes me irate. Because we live in a world that can’t bring itself to address sex people are taking these medications without knowing what might happen, experiencing symptoms without knowing that they are due to the medications and often feeling like that are standing all alone at Taboo Corner (that’s where Depression Drive crosses Sex Street).
